Description
The Nasco 50 Lb. Training Vest is designed to provide realistic weight simulation for firefighter physical ability testing and training. The vest simulates the weight of protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus and allows two additional shoulder weights to be added to replicate the load of a high-rise pack or hose bundle. It is part of the equipment used for the validated Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
The training vest helps create a more realistic physical training experience by distributing simulated equipment weight across the body during movement-based exercises. Its adjustable configuration allows instructors to tailor the load for different training activities while helping candidates practice the strength, endurance, and mobility required for demanding firefighter tasks.
